The long awaited Spring is coming this month, the river will start to
awaken from it's winter nap.
Fraser River Safari does not hiberate though- tours run all seasons.

April brings the Eulachon into the Fraser, which in turn will see the seal return
and the sturgeon begin to feed.
The very first run of spring salmon also enter the Lower Fraser
Kilby Historic Site re-opens April 5 (closed Mon & Tues)

Typically the Spring Freshet begins between the middle of May and the middle of June.
Mission can see the water rise 6 meters during this timeof year.
The wildlife along the Fraser start to give birth to their young.
Mother's Day is on May 13th

Chinook numbers are at the peak in June in the Fraser
We may spot seal pups & fawn as we travel the river now.

The famous Black Powder Father's Day event this month.

The very first sockeye enter the Fraser River in early July

We are watching for young bears during the summer tours.

Pink salmon, and sockeye enter the river this month in larger numbers.
Pink salmon only spawn every two years.

BC Day August 1

Late run sockeye and fall chinook are entering the Fraser this month.
The action heats up.

Labour Day and last long weekend of summer September 3

The Fraser River will have Coho, Fall Chinook, late Sockeye, Pinks
(odd numbered years only) and finally the hard fighting Chum salmon.
The eagles start to return in late October to feast on the spawned out salmon

Winter tours are spectacular, the air is clear and the mountains are topped with snow.
In December 2011 we counted well over 5000 eagles in the Chehlis Estuary.
This is a world class event and should not be missed.
