The Fraser River is of such great importance to British Columbia because of its incredible natural and cultural values as well as the vital part it plays in modern day industry. Millions of waterfowl migrate through the area each year, many species of wildlife spend their lives near the river and some of the world's greatest salmon runs occur here each Fall. The Fraser is also home to the "living dinosaur" better known as the great white sturgeon.

The Power House at Stave Falls and Fraser River Safari have joined forces to create a dynamic new tour. Designed specifically for coach groups of 10-42 people this exciting option will “Spark your Imagination” and take guests into some of the most awe inspiring scenery around. Tour the 1912 generating station that still houses the original turbines and generators. Create electricity with the many hands on exhibits and enjoy the creative displays set up throughout. Take a break for lunch, served up right on site and browse the gift shop too. The other half of this great package is an exploration of the Stave Lake on the all-weather ‘Safari” boat. Sit back and learn about the area while this amazing craft journeys closer to the glacier at the base of Mt. Robie Reid. This expedition leaves Mission Harbour and makes it way down river to one of B.C. National Treasures. Along the way you will explore the shores of the Fraser River and even pass the very spot where Canada's first train robbery took place. Learn about the amazing journey of Simon Fraser and his crew as they travelled the river for the North West Company to connect Canada from shore to shore in the fur trade.
