This is a very special time to live or visit the Province of British Columbia

2008 marks the 150th Birthday of the Province and the 200th anniversary of Simon Fraser’s historic journey down the mighty river that now bears his name.

For thousands of years the River was home to the Aboriginal Peoples and they existed in perfect harmony with the land and the water. In May of 1808 Simon Fraser and a crew of 23 set off on an extraordinary expedition and had it not been for the vast knowledge and generosity of the “people of the river” the outcome may not have been so favorable. August 16th Mission Regional Chamber of Commerce is presenting "Rockin on the River" A great family event that will have you all singing along. For more information check out the Mission Chamber's News Page

August 17th Kids Festival - No one says you have to be a kid to enjoy this fun filled day at our Fraser River Expedition destination. This day is full of fun for all ages- discover your inner child thru music, crafts, sports and theatre.

NEW September 7th Motorcycle Show & Shine - This is brand new to the Fraser River / Kilby adventures. 15 classes of motorcycles will be waiting to be viewed at our half way point. Live rock n roll music will be playing through out the day too. River tours and land rockets-what a combination!

September – 20/21st - "Spirit of Mission Celebrations" - Join the little City with the BIG spirit. This weekend promises something for everyone.

If you have never visited the beautiful City of Mission before this would be the weekend to do it. Every year the City hosts many great events and festivals, but 2008’s are going to be the best yet. The third Saturday of September has been set aside to celebrate the great community spirit that exists here and the venue is the spectacular Heritage Park. This year the one day event has been enhanced to a weekend of things to do and see in our town. For more details please visit our City’s website www.mission.ca

October 12th & 13th Thanksgiving weekend – When Thanksgiving is near there is always a fabulous turkey luncheon involved. Tours on this weekend take guests on a river tour to a 100 year old site and we include a fabulous lunch. Please note special rates apply Cost per adult is $120 senior $90 children $70

October 24-26th - You can feel the eerie chill in the air - spooky Halloween tours are what the crew is up to this weekend. Don't be too afraid as it is a family event and we prefer to scare the Captain. More details to follow...

November 15th & 16th Fraser Valley Bald Eagle Festival The 13th annual festival promises to be bigger and better than ever. The Valley really comes alive with the return of the salmon and eagles and it is an incredible thing to witness. With many different sites to visit over this two day event is offers something for everyone to enjoy. Fraser River Safari will be offering special tours that are designed to let you discover the Valley of the Eagles for yourself in a very unique way. For full details click here

December and the Mission Candle Light Parade – Come enjoy the Valley’s biggest Christmas Parade and make sure to give us a wave as our “float” goes by. I think we are being followed by a big guy in a red suit.
